On Friday 16th, our very own veterinary technical manager, Debby Brown 'free fall abseiled' down the ArcelorMittal Orbit for Vetlife, a charity very close to her.
Vetlife is an independent charity that provides free and confidential support to anyone in the UK veterinary community who has emotional, health or financial problems. The charity was founded in 1905 and is managed by a board of trustees who are all veterinary surgeons.
Debby Brown said "Vetlife is a charity I wholeheartedly support due to its amazing work it does to help vets and their families facing challenges every day. I joined their event last year to climb the O2 to help spread the word of their work and help raise money desperately needed for them to do the important work they do. This year the challenge was an abseil.
When I signed up I didn't realise it was a free fall abseil. I do not like heights and the experience was definitely not one I wish to repeat.
However, I completed the challenge and hope to continue to raise awareness and funds for this charity. The abseil was very hard due to the strain on hands and arms. It was a 282ft abseil without any feet contact. I just wish I could have appreciated the views more!"

Everyone at Dugdale Nutrition would like to congratulate Debby on the abseil challenge! You must be feeling so proud of yourself, we know abseiling can be a very scary experience, but you faced your fears head-on and you did it. Well done!
