If you are then an excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Transport Planner to join a leading animal feed manufacturing business. You will work a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday. You will also be part of an on call rota system, this means once you have completed your training period you will be on call 1 in every 4 weeks.​

Key Tasks & Responsibilities…
-
Plan and manage driver’s routes to provide full support to the transport operation.

Work closely with the Sales Support Team to make sure our customers’ expectations and requirements are fulfilled.

Use a computer-based planning system to allocate work to vehicles.

Effective and efficient organisation and management of route planning for the vehicles, maximising fleet utilisation and ensuring that all customer deliveries are met.

Monitor jobs to ensure that the company are legally compliant to meet the driver’s hours/ WTD regulations.

All jobs should be structured to ensure fuel efficiencies for the company.

Merge jobs if and where appropriate with another unit to reduce fuel costs.

Develop and maintain long term working relationships with internal and external customers.

Exceptional customer service delivered to and received by all contacts both external and internal.

Daily debrief with Transport Operatives, Transport Manager and Site Manager.

Operational administration as required.

On call as part of a one week in four rota system including Saturday and Sunday’s - Once training period is complete.

Manage and reorder bulk stock between both Company sites.

Liaise with third party hauliers to arrange collection and delivery of bulk and bagged feed.

Understand the rules set out for delivery drivers as set out by the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASSC)

Assist with intake of raw materials and sampling of grain in accordance with company standard and procedures.

Review vehicle weights to ensure that they do not leave site overloaded and that all vehicles are within axle weight parameters.​
